Protect Arizona Now Ready for Big Rally Thursday

A high-powered lineup of celebrities will highlight a Phoenix rally Thursday evening for the Protect Arizona Now (PAN) initiative. PAN has until the end of the month to submit 175,000 valid signatures to the Arizona Secretary of State’s office to get the initiative placed on Arizona’s November ballot.

PAN is urging attendees to turn in petition sheets, have their petitions notarized, pick up additional petitions and to sign up to be a petition gatherer.

The Protect Arizona Now initiative aims to require proof of citizenship to register to vote, photo I.D. when voting and proof of eligibility to receive non-federal mandated public benefits.

The speaker list includes:

  • Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), Chairman, Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus
  • Arizona State Representative Russell Pearce, Senior Advisor for P.A.N.
  • Angela "Bay" Buchanan, President of The American Cause
  • Dan Stein, Executive Director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)
  • Terry Anderson - KFNX-1100 Radio-Phoenix/KRLA-870 Radio-Los Angeles
  • Charles Goyette - KFNX-1100 Radio-Phoenix
  • Sydney Hay - KFNX-1100 Radio-Phoenix
  • Bob Mohan - KFNX-1100 Radio-Phoenix

The rally is scheduled to last from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Select, Banquet Room, 4300 East Washington Street (Near Sky Harbor International Airport), in Phoenix.
