News & Analysis Prop 200 Spokeswoman Suggests Boycotting Bank One, Other Enablers of Lawbreaking Illegal aliens have overly burdened Arizona’s families, swamping the taxpayers in a tidal wave of crime, education and health care costs. Home invasions are way up, carjackings along the border and shootings have become common. In the face of the southern invasion, large corporations have become civic midgets that support the lawbreaking. Bank One is among the worst offenders. On Sunday night’s Terry Anderson radio program, originating over KRLA in Los Angeles, Prop 200/Protect Arizona Now (PAN) spokeswoman Willa Key suggested that taxpayers fight back against the corporate backers of the border invasion. Big business is behind a lot of the problems we are having with illegal immigration, and the backers of PAN want to go after the compromising corporations. “Let’s boycott the businesses,” Key told Anderson. “We are going after Bank One and J.P. Morgan Chase.” Key said: “Bank One has two vice presidents who belong to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and who said they will raise $2 million against Prop 200. We are going to fight back. We did some research and we found that the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission came down on them for helping Enron cheat Americans out of millions. And they refused to cooperate with the government. They use the Matricula Consular card constantly and are proud of it. They had a large meeting here and it was all done in Spanish. When some of their employees complained, they said that’s tough, learn Spanish. Bank One is working on immigration with Congressman Jeff Flake.” The Matricula Consular cards are bogus ID cards used by illegal aliens. Many illegals have been caught with nine or 10 such cards, all bearing different names and addresses. Banks and credit unions frequently honor the cards, which are not verifiable. The FBI claimed the cards are a threat to national security. Key said, “the good news is that there are good banks out there to do business with. The National Bank of Arizona is one community bank that believes in patriotism. Take back your country. There is no such thing as cheap labor – only cheap companies who hire illegals.” Anderson, the host of the KRLA radio program, said that he had previously testified at a congressional hearing concerning illegal immigration. One of the things he remembers most about the hearing is that Congressman Flake literally slept through it. Flake, Congressman Jim Kolbe and Senator John McCain are all co-sponsoring a controversial guest worker bill that would provide amnesty for lawbreakers. It will also pose an increased threat to Arizona’s families. For more on Prop 200, see http://www.pan2004.com/.
