The Time is Now

The Time Is Now

Last week I sent the following letter to the people listed. I sent it by regular mail because I have heard that is the best way to actually get somebody to look at it. I believe it is time for us Christians to take back this country. The other side is winning. If you agree, please send a letter to any of those people listed. Their addresses follow. If I left out anybody important it was either by mistake or I just could not find an actual address to send mail to them. It will be interesting to see if any of these people actually respond.

Roberta Combs, Chairman
Christian Coalition of America
P.O. Box 37030
Washington, D.C. 20013-7030

Dear Ms. Combs,

I love this country. I love Jesus. As tens of millions of Americans, I believe this country was founded on Christian principles. I also believe that America was intended to be a Christian nation. I would like to thank you for your work and effort to return this country to it roots. Unfortunately, for every step we go forward in the right direction, the public schools, the mainstream media, pop-culture and most politicians of both parties take us back 10 steps.

According to your website, you have 2 million members. According to most statistics the United States has a Christian population of anywhere from 200 to 250 million. I do not know the total membership numbers for all of the numerous other Christian organizations out there. However, I am sure it is far short of these figures. As a matter of fact, I do not even know if the Christian Coalition is the largest Christian organization. I am sure the powers that be, again of both parties, see a group of 2 million as fairly large on a national scale, but on a local level, percentage wise, it’s less than 5,000 on average per congressional district.

I just cannot say it enough, I think we are fighting a losing battle. A recent poll (Although I hate polls and think most are not very believable) by the Arizona Republic said that only 58 percent of the people thought that America is a Christian nation. They are winning.

But the war is not over. I have a dream (to borrow a phrase). My dream is that all of the Christian organizations out there come together. All of the leaders of the respective groups put their egos aside and attempt to form one gigantic voting block that there is no way it can be ignored by politicians, the media and the public schools.

Let me share my idea with you. The AARP has a membership of 35 million people. Why? Because they offer services, discounts and many other benefits. It is my belief that if the AARP can obtain a membership of 35 million, a national Christian Organization, with an American Christian population over 200 million should be able to obtain a membership of 50 to 100 million members. How? First by consolidating their membership with all of the other big Christian organizations, somehow, someway. Let’s face it, most of the different Christian organizations agree on 90 to 95 percent of most everything anyway. If we all agree on 90 to 95 percent of the main issues, we should come together, not let the 5 to 10 percent we disagree on give the liberals the control they have now.  Second, by using the AARP, NRA, and NASE outline. By offering benefits, discounts and then some more benefits and discounts. All Christian-oriented benefits and a very low, if any, cost to join. The AARP costs $12.50 per year to join, offers dozens and dozens of benefits, and has 35 million members. If they can do it, we as Christians can do it with 200 to 250 million potential members. We should be able to put together a national Christian organization with 50 to 100 million members.

To borrow another phrase from another great man, “It doesn’t matter who gets credit as long as the job gets done.” Done properly, this would give this country back to the Christians it was founded by and for. I could give you dozens of quotes by our Founding Fathers on how this country was founded on Christian principles and only with Christians in control it would survive, but I am sure you have heard most of them. With potential boycotts by tens of millions of Americans of the media, movies, television shows, newspapers, and even public schools, they would need to start listening to a vocal majority of Americans again. We can finally take this country back for our children again, including the schools, the courts, the media, and the entertainment industry. Could you imagine having the power to tell an elected official appoint this type of judge or you’re out. It is possible. We have God on our side.

I recently read an article where you said that the strength of the Christian Coalition lies in its members and that “no matter how much is in the bank, candidates can’t ignore the group.” Obviously, many elected officials both nationally and locally, not only ignore the group, but are openly hostile toward it.

It is possible to not only get back on track but to lead a revival that America has never seen before. The time has come. The 513,000 local, state and federal elected officials need to know we are serious. The other side has way too much control, power, and influence.

Please consider this idea. We have the power to do this. With God behind us anything can be done. This country needs to get back to God. Please help. Please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this enormous undertaking.

Sincerely,

Bob Hugeri
