The Troubled Times of John McCain -- An Arizona 'Tribute'

QUOTES
"
In serving with with John McCain for years, he fought us every step of the way. On life issues, on culture issues, he fought us.  He’s wrong on international affairs. He wants us to join the International Criminal Court. He’s totally wrong on global warming. I could go on and on, if you want me to. He supported the surge, but it wasn’t his idea. The other party called McCain or Chuck Hegel because he was hardly ever on our side. If you listened to his speeches on the floor, he sounded like John Edwards. He was against the tax cuts. I don’t know of anybody who’s done more to harm the Republican Party over the last 12 years. I’m going to be everywhere speaking out to push him to the right." -- Tom DeLay on Sean Hannity radio program Monday

"The bottom line is that I served 12 years with him (McCain), 6 years in the United States Senate as leader, one of the leaders of the Senate — the number-3 leader — who had the responsibility of trying to put together the conservative agenda, and almost at every turn on domestic policy, John McCain was not only against us, but leading the charge on the other side.” -- Rick Santorum on Mark Levin Show

The Former Front Runner: Now McCain's team is falling apart

McCain on the Issues: Wrongheaded

1. Favors the old as well as the new illegal alien amnesty plans.
2. Favors troop surge to Iraq to defend their borders and government, but opposes doing the same for the U.S. Border with Mexico to defend us from invasion. Can you imagine what effect this position has on the morale of our troops? They are sent to die defending freedom for Iraq while here in the U.S., McCain is giving away our country without a fight.
3. With leftist George Soros' funding help, McCain got Campaign Finance Reform past. Not only was this of great benefit to incumbents, but it gave great aid to those wealthy enough to finance their own campaigns. Of course it did great harm to your 1st amendment right to political free speech by not allowing you to organize and campaign against a candidate for up to 60 days  before a federal election.
4  Again with Soros' help, McCain did his best to close down gun shows, interfering with your 2nd Amendment right.
5. Voted against Federal Marriage Amendment.
6. Campaigned with liberal Gov. Janet Napolitano and Cong. Jeff Flake against Prop 200, which protected your voting rights. Prop 200 mandated that you must show you are a citizen to register and ID to vote.
7. Repeatedly voted against drilling for oil in Alaska. This leaves us too dependent on foreign oil. It also results in a dangerous impact on national defense as well as high gasoline and costs which cause inflation.
8.  Supports Gore's unproven and highly contentious position that global warming is caused by human activity.
9. Has voted to spend billions of your tax dollars on the unproven science of embryonic stem cell research which destroys human life. Adult stem cell is proven successful and does not destroy human life. McCain has abandoned his pro-life position.
10 Supports KYOTO, NAFTA,CAFTA,FAST TRACK, GATT, MFN, and FTAA sgreements imposing  environmental restrictions and trade regulations that have and will result in loss of jobs and sovereignty.

Like John Kerry ... unfit for command

Gun control, destructive embryonic stem cell research, amnesty, loss of free speech -- John McCain is just wrong ... wrong for Arizona, wrong for America. John McCain is the Manchurian candidate.

Quotes

"People would be calling in to [state committee] headquarters every week, absolutely enraged, threatening to leave the party because of some comments McCain made. The guy has no core, his only principle is winning the presidency. He likes to call his campaign the 'straight talk express.' Well, down here we call it the 'forked tongue express.'"
Rob Haney, Chairman, AZ GOP District 11

"McCain is taking a political beating on Iraq in New Hampshire and on immigration just about everywhere else. His prospects have fallen with the rise of Fred Thompson. The McCain campaign admits it has lost 10 to 15 points in the last three weeks."
Michael Gerson, Washington Post, June 22, 2007
